Jesus falls beneath the cross
The Word:
Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both
began and finished this race we're in. Study how he did it. Because
he never lost sight of where he was headed - that exhilarating finish
in and with God - he could put up with anything along the way: cross,
shame, whatever. And now he is there, in the place of honour, right
alongside God.
O how glorious it is to have a holy
and great Father in heaven! O how holy, consoling to have such a beautiful
and wonderful Spouse! O how holy and how loving, gratifying, humbling,
peace-giving, sweet, worthy of love, and, above all things, desirable:
to have such a Brother and such a Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, who
laid down his life for his sheep.
Letter
to all the Faithful.
Consider the humility,
the blessed poverty,
the untold labours and burdens he sustained for the human race.
"All you who pass by,
look and see if there is any sorrow like my sorrow."
Letter IV to Agnes of Prague.
