Praised be Jesus
Christ!
Dear friends,
...Freedom!
Freedom is a gift that God has given to all of us; it is
our birthright. I do not have to live as a slave in a meaningless
treadmill. I do not have to limit myself to success. I do not
have to measure myself by money, style, partners and hardware.
I do not have to survive by competition, greed or any of the legally
permitted forms of mugging. If I did live like that, in the final
analysis, I would have to drop from my vocabulary that easy phrase,
"the pressures of society/everyday living" and say, simply: I have
chosen to lead such a life.
If our life is different it is because we have chosen it. We are
willing to be different. We have tried the Gospel, the Good News
of Jesus Christ. And, despite our innumerable failures and sins,
it does work.
.....
Some people climb mountains,
surf tidal waves, and jump, head first,
off high places with a bungie elastic
band around their ankles, in their
spare time.
A few people do it for a living.
Many such people, gravitate
to the armed services.
We are an unarmed service.
We fight for the soul of our world,
for the millions who starve and the
billions who live in bewilderment, in
the traps and tombs they have made
for themselves.
The only way one can impart freedom to another is to be free oneself.
We try to live with open hands and minds and hearts, welcoming the
love of the Lord and passing it on. We try to live without owning
things because once you own anything it starts owning you. And above
all, we try to live as people who listen to the Word of God and,
having heard, live out that Word.
We believe, and we know from experience, that our choices touch
the lives of many whom we never see, nor, on this earth, come to
know.
We hope our life has touched yours.
Your loving little sisters
